Sam's Trip the the Zoo

Not sure how much
he got to see, but
Christine thought
it was a fun trip....

Only problem was
that Mr. Elephant
got excited when he
heard that Peanut
was going to visit.

Eli and Sam

So Master Eli Simon Chang is only two point five months older than Sam, but Sam sure seems like he has a lot of catching up to do. It is pretty neat that they are so close in age!

Kat and Peanut!

Doesn't Sam look comfortable in Kat's arms? All that training in the pediatrics ward must have helped!

sleepy baby

Cutest Photo Ever

Well, maybe Dad is a bit biased....but you have to agree that he is pretty darned cute! We have recently come to the understanding that the blue binky pictured is our and, more importantly, Sam's friend. It helps him sleep, it gives him something to suck on when mom is not around and he can't find his hand, and 4 out of 5 parents surveyed recommend binkies for kids that chew binkies!

Peanut's First grade

Apparently the US Post Office didn't think "Peanut Carta" was an appropriate name to deliver to....

Pee-Nut

They always warn you when you have a baby boy to watch out when changing diapers - they're armed and dangerous. I'm slowly realizing just how true this is! After avoiding two near hits early on, I've not been so lucky in the dozens of diaper changes since. Although I can't complain too much...Samuel's landed two shots right on his face, so I think he's gotten the worst of it so far. Don't worry though, he didn't seem to mind...and it's when he goes number two on the changing table that really makes life interesting. Just something for those future parents out there to look forward to. -Christine

My new wheels

Mom, Dad, and Grandma took Peanut out for a stroll around the neighborhood. Good to get outside into the San Diego sun

Home biliruben therapy!

Sitting in the sunshine at home is so much better than the ICU!

We are so happy to have him home. Thank everyone for their prayers and wishes!

Home!

Happy Mom

We are overjoyed to be leaving the hospital with Samuel as I write this message. He is happily sound asleep in his carseat and has no wires, IVs, tubes or lights attached! And mom and dad get to go home and no longer feel like the hospital version of the movie "The Terminal".
Thank you for all the prayers of support and health for our son and we will keep you updated as he enters the second chapter of his life: There's No Place Like Home.

Going home!

Going home!
Hallelujah! We're going home!
Peanut's going home!
Hip hip hooray!

Mullet & Sideburns

Sam has a pretty funky hairdo. It is punctuated by a recessed hairline (hopefully not receeding), impressive sideburn chops, and a mullet. He also has a perfect spiral in the center of the top of his head.
